Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with
company objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and
supply chain reliability.
Identify and evaluate potential international and domestic suppliers for NDT,
RVI, and other required products/services.
Lead negotiations for major contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to
achieve the most favourable agreements.
Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and
vendors.
Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular reviews, and implement
corrective actions as needed.
Stay updated on market trends, commodity prices, and new technologies
relevant to the company's import portfolio.
2. Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
Oversee the entire logistics lifecycle, from order placement with suppliers to
final delivery to the customer.
Manage international and domestic freight, including selection of freight
forwarders, carriers, and transportation modes.
Ensure efficient and compliant customs clearance processes for all imported
goods, working closely with customs brokers.
Optimize warehousing operations, including inventory management, storage,
order picking, and dispatch.
Develop and implement strategies to minimize lead times, reduce
transportation costs, and improve delivery reliability.
Manage inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and minimize excess inventory,
utilizing demand forecasting and inventory control techniques.
3. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in procurement and logistics processes
and implement solutions for improvement.
Develop and standardize operational procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency,
quality, and compliance.
Leverage technology (e.g., ERP systems) to enhance operational efficiency
and visibility.
Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain
disruptions, including contingency planning.
4. Cost Management & Budgeting:
Develop and manage the annual budget for procurement and logistics
operations.
Identify opportunities for cost savings across the supply chain without
compromising quality or service levels.
Analyze spending patterns and procurement data to inform strategic decisions.
5. Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure strict compliance with all relevant international trade laws, customs
regulations, taxation (GST, import duties), and internal company policies.
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary import/export
documentation.
Manage required licenses, permits, and certifications for imported goods.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with Sales, Accounts & Finance, to ensure seamless
operations and customer satisfaction.
Provide timely updates on order status, shipping schedules, and potential
delays to relevant internal stakeholders.
