Position Overview
The Safety Engineer will play a key role in supporting industrial projects, conducting safety engineering studies, and ensuring the integration of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements throughout design and operations. The role involves contributing to technology selection, participating in multidisciplinary project teams, and providing expert safety support to industrial sites to enhance safety performance and reduce environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Engineering - Development Studies & Industrial Project Support
Participate in defining study scope, schedule, and budget; secure approval from the study manager, project architect, and client.
Assist in establishing study bases, methodologies, and assumptions in coordination with relevant engineering disciplines.
Contribute to technology selection by identifying and evaluating associated technological risks.
Ensure safety-related deliverables produced by licensors meet engineering and safety standards.
Independently develop safety engineering deliverables for design and optimisation, including:
+ Layout review
+ Safety concepts
+ HAZID
+ MUSE
+ Water demand calculations
+ Other discipline-related analyses Ensure integration of company HSE requirements within project deliverables.
Verify compliance of safety engineering dossiers with internal HSE expectations and international codes/standards.
Support technical decision?making activities within projects.
Contribute to drafting, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with technical requests.
Present study outcomes during Quality Reviews, Project Reviews, and meetings with clients and partners.
2. Technical Assistance to Industrial Sites
As part of improving industrial safety and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Safety Engineer will:
Clarify requirements, define study bases, and propose scope, schedule, and budget for safety studies.
Support execution and analysis of site safety engineering studies related to major modifications or new installations.
Contribute to validating the technical content of studies produced by operational sites or subsidiaries.
3. Expertise Development & Knowledge Management
Participate in peer reviews and quality reviews for internal and external safety engineering studies or projects.
Contribute to developing tools, methods, and best practices within the Safety Engineering discipline.
Support the continuous improvement, retention, and dissemination of technical expertise and lessons learned.

Minimum
10 years of relevant experience
in Safety Engineering within industrial sectors (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy, chemicals, EPC).
Strong knowledge of safety engineering methodologies: HAZID, MUSE, risk assessments, layout safety design, etc.
Familiarity with international safety and engineering standards (e.g., API, NFPA, ISO, IEC).
Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
