Job Title Process Shift Incharge - DRI Plant Department Operations / Production Reporting To Shift Manager / Production Manager Location DRI Plant (Rotary Kiln / Shaft Furnace - as applicable) Job Purpose To ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation of the DRI plant during the assigned shift by monitoring process parameters, coordinating with field and control room teams, and achieving production and quality targets. Key Responsibilities Process & Operations Supervise and control DRI plant operations during the shift to achieve targeted production and metallization. Monitor and control process parameters such as kiln temperature profile, pressure, gas composition, feed rate, and discharge conditions. Ensure smooth operation of rotary kiln, cooler, ESP/Bag filter, coal injection system, and material handling systems. Identify process abnormalities and take timely corrective actions to avoid production loss or unsafe conditions. Coordinate startups, shutdowns, and emergency handling as per SOPs. Safety & Compliance Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, SOPs, and statutory requirements. Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture among shift personnel. Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices. Report and investigate near-misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions. Manpower & Shift Management Allocate duties to shift operators and field staff. Guide and mentor junior engineers, operators, and technicians. Maintain discipline and effective communication within the shift team. Ensure proper shift handover with clear communication of plant status and issues. Quality Control Ensure DRI quality parameters (metallization, carbon %, size consistency) meet standards. Coordinate with quality and laboratory teams for sampling and analysis. Take corrective actions for deviations in product quality. Maintenance Coordination Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown handling and preventive maintenance. Raise work requests and follow up on critical equipment issues. Ensure housekeeping and equipment health in the plant area. Documentation & Reporting Maintain shift logs, production reports, and deviation records. Report key performance indicators (KPIs), incidents, and abnormalities to management. Ensure compliance with ISO / EMS / OHS documentation requirements. Key Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of DRI process and kiln operations Process troubleshooting and decision-making skills Leadership and team-handling ability Knowledge of safety systems and interlocks Basic computer skills (DCS, MS Excel, reporting) Qualifications B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline Experience 5-10 years of experience in DRI plant operations Prior experience as Shift Engineer / Senior Operator preferred Working Conditions Rotational shifts For Raigarh Chhattisgarh DRI PLANT

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
