The Role



As a Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing automation solutions for various manufacturing fields, with a focus on Body in White (BIW) automotive processes. You will be responsible for driving process improvements, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This position reports to the

Senior Manager Projects.






Key Responsibilities



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions tailored to BIW automotive manufacturing requirements. Work with the simulation team to conduct process simulations and feasibility studies to evaluate proposed solutions and optimize performance. Be the point of contact and liaison with the customer for process kickoff, weekly progress meetings and final processing deliverables Define process parameters, specifications, and control strategies to ensure consistent quality and efficiency. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source automation equipment and components. Provide technical support and training to production teams to ensure successful implementation and operation of automation solutions. Continuously review and refine processes through experimentation, testing, and validation activities. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.



Qualifications and Experience



Essential



BTech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry. Strong expertise in automation technologies, including robotics, vision, material joining - Welding, Riveting, Sealing Working knowledge of any CAD software - preferably NX or Solidworks Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Expertise in Man-Machine chart and Cycle time chart preparation. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in the BIW automotive sector. Exposure to North American standards and BIW processes. GM is highly preferable. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results on time and within budget. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans and initiatives. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and driving positive change within the organization.



Desirable



Process Engineer experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred. Working knowledge of Teamcenter is advantageous.



Physical Demands



While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
