Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Process Engineering Technician. You will be responsible for supporting process design, documentation, and implementation while working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality.
You will:
Review and update Bill of Materials (BOMs), labor estimates, drawings, and work instructions for new and existing jobs.
Create Mylars, work instructions, and engineering masters for FAI/FPI jobs and harnesses, and upload them in Visual/PSI systems.
Support production teams with FAI/FPI/prototype builds, ensuring all documentation is complete prior to production release.
Conduct time studies, record timings from production travelers, and compare against estimates.
Provide technical support to production, quality, manufacturing, and electrical test teams as required.
Upload engineering masters, BOMs, raw material parts, and drawings into PSI software and SharePoint.
Support engineering changes/reworks requested by customers and internal teams.
Contribute to quality assurance by designing work instructions, testing methods, and confirming manufacturing processes.
Participate in cost-saving initiatives by detecting process/material improvements in production.
Assist in component validation and create mating part connectors for electrical test fixtures.
Capture and upload production pictures to the designated drive folders.
Train new team members when required.
Support material quotations for existing and new projects.
Actively contribute to team effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives.
You have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics) or related field.
4 years of experience in process engineering, harness engineering, or a related manufacturing role.
Strong understanding of process documentation, harness manufacturing, and engineering standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for Mylar/design creation.
Good knowledge of industrial processes, quality standards, and time study methods.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and contribute to cross-functional projects.
Extra points if you also:
Have prior experience in the wiring harness industry.
Are familiar with ERP/PSI/Visual software.
Have exposure to FAI/FPI processes, component validation, and quality documentation.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to cost-saving and process improvement.
