The Process Design Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and optimizing process designs to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective plant operations. The role involves conceptual and detailed process engineering, preparation of process documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and equipment data sheets.
Perform process simulations and calculations (mass/energy balance, hydraulic design, pressure drop, sizing of equipment or Gas Pressure Regulators, etc.).
Specify and design key process equipment such as compressors, heat exchangers, vessels, and control valves.
Prepare and review engineering documents including design basis, process descriptions, and operating manuals.
Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation stages.
Design and optimize pressure regulating systems and Gas metering systems including Filtrations skids, Knock out Drums, Heaters etc.
Prepare process design basis, sizing calculations, and P&IDs for city gate stations, district regulating stations.
Conduct flow and pressure drop analysis using software tools.
Develop material specifications and equipment datasheets for filters, meters, regulators, and valves or any other process equipment as per client requirements.
Ensure designs comply with international design codes, standards, and safety regulations and PNGRB, OISD, API, IGEM ASME standards.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for integrated facility design.
Support field teams during commissioning and troubleshooting.
Prepare and review safety and operating procedures.
