Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings under supervision
Prepare BOMs, part lists, and technical documentation
Update existing drawings per engineering change orders
Ensure compliance with GD&T principles and company standards
Component Design & Development
Assist in designing mechanical components for various applications
Implement design modifications based on senior engineer and manufacturing feedback
Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
Support fixture and tooling design
Participate in design reviews
Manufacturing Process Support
Collaborate with production teams to understand machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes
Assist in creating work instructions and standard operating procedures
Support process improvement initiatives through documentation and analysis
Conduct shop floor visits to understand manufacturing capabilities and constraints
Technical Analysis
Perform basic engineering calculations (stress, strength, tolerance analysis) under supervision
Assist with material selection and failure analysis
Learn to use simulation and analysis tools
Maintain records of design iterations and technical decisions
Collaboration & Professional Development
Work with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement
Participate in training programs for CAD software and manufacturing processes
Seek mentorship from senior engineers to develop technical competencies
Build knowledge of hydraulic systems, gearbox assemblies, and fabrication processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
0-2 years of professional experience (internships, co-op, or academic projects acceptable)
Basic proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor, or similar)
Fundamental understanding of engineering drawing standards and GD&T
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes through academic coursework
Strong willingness to learn in a manufacturing environment
Excellent attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering
Academic projects involving mechanical design or CAD modeling
Exposure to machining, fabrication, or assembly operations
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and engineering calculations
Knowledge of engineering standards (ISO, ASME, ANSI)
