Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), mass balance, and hydraulic calculations for treatment plants.
Design process units for STP, ETP, RO, UF, MBR, and ZLD systems.
Select appropriate treatment technologies based on influent and effluent parameters.
Size key equipment (aeration tank, clarifier, filter, MBR, RO skids, etc.) using design standards and manufacturer data.
Develop process control philosophy and support automation design.
2. Proposal Support
Work with the estimation and sales team to prepare techno-commercial proposals.
Review client tender documents, specifications, and BOQs.
Optimize process design to achieve the best technical and cost balance.
Provide technical inputs during bid clarification and client discussions.
3. Documentation & Drawings
Prepare process data sheets, design basis reports (DBR), and equipment specifications.
Develop P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) and GA (General Arrangement) drawings.
Prepare layout drawings in coordination with CAD and mechanical teams.
Review vendor drawings and ensure technical compliance.
4. Project Coordination
Support the project execution team during detailed engineering and commissioning.
Review shop drawings, design modifications, and process troubleshooting.
Conduct pilot trials or treatability studies when required.
Prepare O&M manuals and process documentation for handover.
5. Compliance & Standards
Ensure all designs comply with CPCB/KSPCB guidelines and relevant BIS/ISO standards.
Keep updated with new environmental regulations and process technologies.
Implement energy-efficient and sustainable treatment methods.
6. Reporting & Quality Control
Maintain design calculation records and quality assurance documentation.
Participate in design reviews and HAZOP studies.
Prepare process performance reports and as-built documentation.
Educational & Skill Requirements
B.E./B.Tech in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
3-8 years of experience in water and wastewater process design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and design tools like WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or MATLAB (optional).
Strong understanding of biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
