Job Purpose:

Provide support to Shell's OUs as an AVEVA PID USER in drawing management systems. Candidate primarily works will be on AVEVA PID & AutoCAD

Business Dimensions:

The role is expected to be the expert in AVEVA PID User closely engages with senior designer and an OU in updating the technical specification, troubleshooting, user management suggest improvement solutions for improving the overall quality of work.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Should have extensive experience as AVEVA P&ID User.
  • Experience in converting non intelligent P&ID to intelligent AVEVA P&ID
  • Understand the completeness and consistency across the entire project for improving quality and reducing rework
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil structural and process discipline required for intelligent P&ID creation.
  • Proficiency in AVEVA P&ID with sound drafting experience and quality check process
  • Be able to understand and interpret the corrections & redline markups done in the drawings and seek clarification with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in drafting/detailing/review/managing technical documents and drawings.
  • Ability in providing technical support, quality check and sharing recommended practices and standards to junior designers.
  • Ability to provide internal training on AVEVA P&ID
  • Able to work in smart P&IDs by assigning attributes & metadata to the objects/equipment in the drawing, changing the properties of an object, adding/editing the metadata for the objects in the drawings.
  • Having knowledge in Digital twin and hands-on experience in AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Instrumentation, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Net will be added advantage.

  • The role primarily involves remote support to the Shell operating units/sites in the drawing management & updates.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education/Experience:

Mechanical/Industrial/ Piping Engineering Degree / Diploma with 3-4 / 5-7 years of work experience
  • Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical Industry - operating assets and/or a varied range of brownfield projects.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Designer in AVEVA PID
  • Review and prepare piping design deliverables (i.e., Bill of Material, Isometrics and Piping GA Drawings)
  • Knowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principles
  • Familiar with international codes, standards, recommended practices, and knowledge level in Shell Dep will be added advantageous.
  • Piping/Mechanical design & technical disciplinary drawings in design, drafting & engineering firms/ consultancy firms/ plant environments/industry past the professional degree/diploma.
  • Result-oriented with goal setting for self and team.
  • Leadership skills and team engagement.
Highly Preferred skills are:
  • Strong knowledge in AVEVA suites and Digital twin.

  • Excellent communication skills and a quick learner. Be a good team player. Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities for the area of responsibility. Flexible and adaptable to change, with a track record of demonstrating initiative, analytical capabilities and problem-solving.
  • Ability to apply engineering best practices, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management with business interface exposure
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams.
