Under the supervision of the Chief Probation Officer and Court Administration the
Probation Officer
will interview and monitor individuals placed on probation with the 44th District Court. The candidate will monitor individuals for compliance and make verbal and/or written reports on appropriate rehabilitation plans. The candidate must be able to provide testimony in open court. The candidate will monitor clients for abstinence including direct observation same gender drug testing. The candidate must be organized; able to work independently and as part of a team; be adaptable and detail oriented. The candidate must be able to multi-task and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment; possess strong problem-solving skills, work ethic and time management skills.

may be called upon to do any or all of the following (These examples do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform):
Conduct pre-sentence investigations/alcohol evaluations and prepare a report containing investigation findings and recommendations for sentencing.
Monitor probationer's compliance with probation terms and conditions.
Initiate probation violations, amendments and discharges when appropriate.
Maintain case records and prepare reports as needed.
Conduct alcohol/drug urine testing as deemed necessary or ordered by the court.
Other duties as assigned.

Probation Officer
, upon application, should have the following training, experience, education, and certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, psychology, counseling or closely related field.
Strong word processing skills. Must also be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Prior experience in a district court is desired.
Note: It is desirable that the successful candidate will work toward becoming a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP-M).
