About the Role
MIT University, Sikkim, with its main campus in Melli (Sikkim) and administrative office in Noida, invites applications for the position of
University Advisor or Pro Chancellor
.
The Advisor will play a pivotal role in guiding the institution towards
UGC 2(f) and 12B compliance
(as per the UGC Guidelines), validating academic structures, and ensuring the university's framework strictly aligns with regulatory norms and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance to achieve
UGC 2(f) and 12B compliance
.
Review and streamline the academic and administrative structure of the university.
Ensure governance frameworks comply with
UGC, AICTE, PCI, BCI, and State Government regulations
.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of
MOM, BOM, and Academic Council procedures
.
Build and maintain strong networks with professors and lecturers for academic enrichment.
Assist in drafting and finalizing
policy documents, ordinances, and statutory records
.
Guide the development and introduction of new programs in line with
NEP 2020 curriculum guidelines
.
Advise on
faculty recruitment, examination systems, and accreditation processes
.
Conduct regular audits and reviews for
academic quality, compliance, and operational efficiency
.
Mentor university leadership for
long-term growth, recognition, and academic excellence
.
Eligibility Criteria
Preferably retired from the education sector or government service, with proven expertise in
higher education administration and compliance
.
Candidates who have served as
Vice-Chancellor/Pro Vice-Chancellor
in a recognized Indian university will be given preference.
Qualification:
Ph.D. (minimum requirement) from a reputed institution.
Required Knowledge Areas
Strong knowledge of
UGC Acts, Regulations, and higher education governance
.
Proven experience in
establishing or operationalizing private/state universities
.
Expertise in
NEP 2020, curriculum frameworks, and innovative pedagogy
.
Deep familiarity with compliance requirements of
UGC, NAAC, AICTE, PCI, and BCI
.
Excellent skills in
academic administration, policy drafting, and stakeholder management
.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on
institutional quality, accreditation, and global standards
