The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior UX/UI Designer (SME) to lead the design of observability dashboards, hybrid cloud control plane interfaces, and developer self-service portals. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with BI/observability tools like Grafana and Quicksight, a passion for creating intuitive, adaptive, and visually compelling designs, and the ability to engage directly with customers to translate feedback into impactful experiences.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to ensure our Hybrid Cloud Control Plane (HCCP) and platform components deliver a wow-factor user experience while being functional, scalable, and data-rich.
Who You Are
Key Responsibilities:

• Design dashboards and hybrid cloud platform interfaces (observability, performance, health, cost metrics, self-service portals) with polished, adaptive, and responsive UIs.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and persona development to drive user-centered design decisions.
• Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design systems to ensure consistent, modern, and intuitive experiences.
• Simplify complex cloud workflows into user-friendly, data-rich dashboards with charts, metrics, and visualizations.
• Collaborate with Architects, developers, and customers to deliver designs that meet business needs and create a wow-factor experience.
• Optimize designs for data-heavy UIs, including visualizations, charts, and monitoring metrics.
• Work closely with frontend developers to ensure design feasibility and accurate implementation.
• Provide detailed design specifications and guidelines for development teams.
• Participate in design reviews and iterate based on feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise applications, specializing in BI tools, observability, and dashboards. * Hands-on experience with Grafana, AWS Quicksight, PowerBI, Google Looker or similar BI/observability platforms.

• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent design tools.
• Strong understanding of UI frameworks (React, Tailwind, Material UI, etc.) and collaboration with developers.
• Experience in user research, journey mapping, usability testing, and persona creation.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills to gather feedback and influence design decisions.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing observability dashboards for AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
• Knowledge of Backstage.io or other internal developer platform frameworks.
• Familiarity with human-centered design principles and UX research methodologies.
• Agile/DevOps environment experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of design systems and component libraries.
• Experience with Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Monitoring tools.
• Understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React, Angular) to collaborate with developers effectively.
