Overview:
As the Principal Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering team and ensuring the successful delivery of all mechanical engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure the successful completion of all mechanical building services engineering projects delivery.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project requirements, develop engineering solutions, and ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP. Develop positive professional relationship with the other WSP Teams outside India, communicating openly about project progress.
3. Drive the development and implementation of innovative mechanical building services engineering solutions, utilizing the latest technologies and methodologies to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective project deliverables.
4. Works closely with Local GCC Head of MEP to the development of the company's mechanical building services engineering strategy, identifying areas for improvement, and driving continuous innovation and improvement within the mechanical building services engineering team. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in line with company policies and ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices.
5. Provide technical expertise in mechanical building services engineering, offering guidance and support to team members while also remaining hands-on in project development and delivery. Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the design of mechanical building services for the project.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and drive the implementation of best practices across all mechanical engineering projects.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Have obtained or working towards obtaining Chartered Engineer status or equivalent and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. CIBSE, IMECHE, ASHRAE, Institute of Plumbing
- 12+ years of experience in mechanical building services, with a proven track record of leading and delivering successful mechanical building services projects. Prior experience in Rail and infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Strong team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire a team of engineers. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
