Department overview: FRTB is looking for a strong Java lead to manage and lead team of developers developing software for financial applications in AWS infrastructure. Work will be primarily on developing and extending the current services in Java/Scala and other JVM languages as well as working on the AWS resources and infrastructure. Good opportunity to work on an interesting mix of business critical financial data services (modeling financial data transformations and streaming processes to create optimal services) as well as working on the scalable and cloud based technology platform to support the micro-services framework in place. The FRTB development team is in growth phase and currently consists of developers, product and testers located in the London, New York and Noida offices Position summary FRTB is looking for a strong hands-on Java lead to develop the group\'s development effort in Noida developing software for financial applications, including . Services to on-board new data sets . Develop AWS infrastructure as a service . Client-facing and internal web applications . Model financial data The candidate will work closely with global cross-functional teams across Development, QA, Technology, Infrastructure Business Analysis and Project Management., to ensure project deliveries. The candidate would be required to work closely with the key stakeholders and technical teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery. The candidate will be required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong inter-personal, organizational / coordination skills, and hands-on experience in development / technology. As well as delivering software of high quality, candidate needs to work towards the team\'s goals of high test-coverage, automated and frequent deployment, and regular cycles of code delivery, testing and feedback. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced environment and be flexible to adapt to changes. Duties & accountabilities Work closely with the FRTB development team in London & Noida, take ownership of various components in the platform, and gain a solid understanding of how these components fit within the overall platform Develop new software, and enhance existing software, to high-standards. Adhere to best practices that enhance user experience, usability, scalability, performance and security. Drive technology initiatives Ensuring clear communication on status to all stakeholders including regular progress and updates to your manager, peers and team. Establish a productive working relationship with main product stakeholders for these components Work closely with the QA teams through testing cycles Maintain and support the applications, investigating and fixing issues. Contribute to discussions and decisions regarding the FRTB system architecture Improve the overall FRTB platform Ability to work with business to define the future looking roadmap and near term objectives Business competencies Degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier institution. 4+ years of experience working on distributed Java platforms and Web Platforms Strong core Java 8 skills (with good understanding of multi threading and performance tuning) Comfortable working with both UNIX/Linux and Windows environments Strong technical and platform knowledge in the Java eco system and broader. Knowledge of AWS, Spark and NoSQL technologies is a plus. Good understanding of agile software development methodology. Thorough understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, refactoring debugging, and configuration management. Excellent design and problem solving skills. Business awareness Motivation to acquire/increase knowledge of the financial sector is essential An understanding of derivatives is a plus Personal competencies The ideal candidate would be conscientious, self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, very hard working and prepared to go the extra mile to absorb the necessary business & technical knowledge to succeed.
