Position Overview



The Principal is the academic and administrative head of the institution, responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and support staff. The role involves overseeing the academic curriculum, therapeutic interventions, student development, parent engagement, and operational management with a focus on individualized education plans (IEPs) and inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities



1.

Leadership & Strategy



Develop and implement a strategic vision aligning with the mission of the institution. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment for staff, students, and families. Lead curriculum planning tailored to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Academic and Therapeutic Coordination



Supervise special educators, therapists (speech, occupational, behavioral), and counselors. Ensure the development and execution of IEPs for each student. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
3.

Staff Management and Development



Recruit, train, and appraise teaching and therapeutic staff. Promote ongoing professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
4.

Parent and Community Engagement



Build strong relationships with parents and guardians. Conduct regular meetings and workshops for families. Engage with local bodies, NGOs, and educational authorities for partnerships and outreach.
5.

Compliance and Administration



Ensure adherence to educational regulations, child protection policies, and safety standards. Maintain records and reports related to student performance, therapies, and staff evaluations.

Qualifications & Experience



Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field (mandatory). B.Ed. in Special Education (preferred). Minimum 7-10 years of experience in special education or therapeutic settings, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Deep understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders, inclusive practices, and therapeutic models.
