This is a

Principal Engineering Manager

role with opportunity for deep technical impact, product innovation and team building with excellent potential for creating deep impact on a critical productivity product.

As a strong product leader who will define the vision and provide technical leadership to 8+ engineers, you will have the responsibility to advance the product through deep architectural improvements, strong focus on fundamentals, innovation to drive higher business value across Excel and Office.

As an inspiring, inclusive and collaborative leader, you will be responsible for delivering customer and business value. As part of your job, you will:Lead a team of 8+ engineers to design, architect and drive implementation of large-scale experience spanning multiple systems and groups. Provide technical guidance and design leadership to your team. Work with global partner teams and disciplines to scope and deliver projects. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience.
Deep experience in leading highly complex software projects with large code bases. Solid management skills to collaborate across teams and to inspire talented engineering teams. Track record of creating a culture of technical excellence and growing strong engineering teams. Demonstrable experience in architecting and driving implementation of large-scale services and experiences. Great communicator, able to convey complex issues, ideas and concepts clearly within and across teams and management levels.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate/post graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent is highly desirable. 10+ years of software industry experience including 2+ years of experience managing 8+ member engineering teams. Expertise in C/C++, C# or Java is a highly desirable.
