Principal Software Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead and oversee the technical aspects for an existing team that advances one of the largest custom applications in NIQ. You will work closely with the Product Owner of the platform and cross-functional partners to influence the roadmap and define innovative solutions for internal and external customers.


The SA&I team manages survey platforms and panel management software, supporting key business processes and ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis. Our current technology stack consists primarily of .NET / C# / SQL Server. We are in the process of modernizing our infrastructure, transitioning towards .NET Core + Angular, and establishing contemporary development practices.


The ideal candidate is a skilled software engineer with experience in .NET technologies, an interest in modernizing legacy systems, and a collaborative mindset. You will be part of a flexible and collaborative environment where you can develop and refine your skills while working on a major platform. You will also join an experienced team that maintains a positive and productive work environment that has fully adopted the agile process.

You have experience developing and maintaining applications in .NET / C# and SQL Server. You have a solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices. You are willing to work with both modern .NET Core solutions and legacy WebForms applications while you modernize the architecture. You have excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset. You can effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are a strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. You take ownership of your work and deliver high-quality software solutions. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies as we transition to a more modern infrastructure. You can optimize database queries in SQL and improve application performance. You can lead code reviews, testing, and deployment activities. You can effectively collaborate with other NIQ team members across the globe to ensure system stability, security, and scalability.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. Proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications.

Skills:

10+ years of experience in C#/.NET, & SQL Server Advanced experience programming in Angular Advanced knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Significant experience building cloud native applications and services in Azure Strong understanding of Design Pattern and object-oriented design (SOLID principles, Dependency Injection, Factory pattern) Strong knowledge of system architecture, microservices, and API design. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. A good understanding of application security, threats, attacks and mitigations Experience with the Agile work model

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with distributed cloud architecture for global applications. Familiarity with DNS, DMARC, and bulk email best practices
