Principal Scala (Apache Spark) Engineer at BairesDev



We are seeking a Principal Scala (Apache Spark) Engineer to define the technical vision and architecture for large-scale distributed data systems. You'll shape Spark ecosystem contributions, design high-performance platforms, and influence roadmap and best practices.


What You'll Do:


Contribute actively to Apache Spark and related open source projects as a core contributor. Define the architecture and optimization strategies for enterprise-scale Spark platforms. Lead technical vision for Spark integrations, advanced Dataset APIs, and performance enhancements. Shape best practices for Scala and Spark development across teams. Influence Apache Spark's evolution through active participation in open source contributions.

What we are looking for:


10+ years of experience in software development. Strong expertise in Scala, functional programming, and JVM optimization. Deep understanding of Spark internals, including Catalyst, Tungsten, and query execution. Proven record of leading large-scale distributed Spark projects. Core contributions to Apache Spark or related open source projects. Advanced level of English.
