If so, the Enterprise Architecture Director might be the position for you! The objective of this role is to identify, delineate the essential building blocks and design the integration points that make up an end-to-end network service on the Consumer Health Global Network Platform. Producing modular and flexible end-to-end solution designs with those building blocks that meets the business requirements. This includes engaging with the component design teams in the cloud, application, infrastructure, networks, systems, security and service domains steering their upstream and downstream output into a cohesive set of artefacts with well-defined northbound/southbound interfaces and operating parameters:

• Design multi-tenant and geo-distributed network and security services which are optimal, secure, efficient, scalable, reusable, resilient and reliable, that are compliant with CH technology architecture standards and policies
• Lead the identification and definition of the right set of cloud networking, converged networking and systems technologies to be used for Edge and multi cloud solutions and drive the effort to templatize and automate those technologies to be used at scale across CH
• Build internal, external and third-party supplier relationships to ensure full commitment and support in execution of the designs
• Lead the E2E solution design initiatives for network services to ensure that they meet requirements, are easily consumable by Product and Engineering teams and is simultaneously compliant with CH information security standards
• Work with E2E solution design peers architecture and operational teams to define the implementation roadmap and scope sprints to deliver faster business outcomes working across the teams
• Responsible for the overall integrity of delivered solutions ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture, Digital Operations/Service Delivery and Service Management
• Provide subject matter expertise to implementation and operational teams to guide deployment and in-life troubleshooting of converged networking and security services

Scope:

• All Consumer Health Converged Networking and Security – Edge and Cloud

Activities:

• Collect, collate, analyse, develop and agree converged networking requirements across Edge and Cloud (including infrastructure, security, systems, process and service) relating to existing business capabilities, new capabilities, future capabilities and create the appropriate solution design roadmap to meet those requirements
• Work across Enterprise Architecture, Service Delivery, Service Management, Product and Engineering to define the specifications and perform impact assessments ensuring a collaborative approach and consensus agreement of the performance and customer experience parameters of the end-to-end solution to be delivered
• Participate in discussions with the business to influence upstream and downstream product/application design and offerings, IT infrastructure standardisation and related non-functional requirements.
• Document, Publish and Maintain integration designs for converged network and systems entities and their interfaces
• Provide subject matter expertise to guide the definition and execution of converged networking solutions
• Maintain a feedback loop between component design teams, Digital Operations and Enterprise Architecture
• Participate in development/engineering team scrums or other agile models and provide guidance as E2E converged networking solution owner and as technical stakeholder
• Quality assurance of designs and templates through adoption of industry best practices

Key Skills required:

• 15+ years’ experience in network systems design and enterprise cloud technology adoption in multi-vendor and or multi-MSP production environmentsRequires detailed network architecture, integration, optimisation, standards (IETF, ITU, IEEE, ETSI, TMF, NIST and BIPM) knowledge and expertise across all 7 layers of the OSI stack with the ability to employ in both physical and virtual contexts
• Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options in more than one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) etc.
• Deep experience in IaaS (with good fundamentals in compute, storage, networks and security) as well as PaaS and SaaS.
• Practitioner understanding of Azure networking (VNet, NVAs, Expressroute etc) and or cloud networking constructs of AWS (VPCs, Direct Connect etc.)
• Deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability etc.
• Strong expertise in Automation, IaC and Configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation & ARM templates
• Good awareness of DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and tools like Azure DevOps (VSTS), Jira, knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
• Requires detailed understanding of linkages between architecture and the accumulation of technical debt that affect the strategic intent
• Needs to be highly analytical and comfortable operating across the business
• Strong presentation skills (written and oral), capable of articulating complex ideas with authority and making the case for adoption in simple language with the ability to present a high-level vision and story as well as the detailed analysis to underpin it. Must be experienced presenting to senior stakeholders
• Strong team player, needs to influence and lead across the business
• Distinguished Engineer level credibility with hands-on experience within a Systems Integrator, Service Provider or Multi-National Corporation (MNC)
• In depth knowledge in networks and the supporting ecosystem, experienced in engaging on network topics at all levels internally and externally:
  • Traditional – IP/MPLS, Internet (DIA|BIA), 4G/LTE FWA, xDSL|DOCSIS, Ethernet, WDM, Remote Access, LAN (fixed and Wireless), IPSec, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Web Proxies, WAN Optimisation, DDI and Telephony
  • Next-generation – NFV, SDN, SD-WAN, EVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN, CLOS fabrics, Cloud Networking, Cloud Exchanges, ZTNA, CASB, Cloud based Firewall/proxy Services, NGFW and Unified Communications
  • Tooling – Active and Passive Instrumentation, Application Aware Network Performance Monitoring & Diagnostics, Application Performance Monitoring
  • OSS – Catalogue driven Orchestration, automation, Intent Based Networking (IBN), IaC tools and Experience API integrations
  • Virtual Infrastructure – Kubernetes, Docker, Openstack, LXC and VMWare
• Experience in consulting and workshop facilitation to derive customer requirements
