Job Description


As a Principal Counsel / Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of the legal strategy for the organization. You will be responsible for coordinating with lawyers, managing litigation processes, attending court proceedings, and ensuring effective management of legal cases from initiation to resolution. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at safeguarding the organization\'s legal interests and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

Legal Strategy Execution: * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective legal strategies aligned with the organization\'s goals and objectives.

  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on potential risks, disputes, and legal implications.
Coordination with Lawyers: * Liaise and collaborate with external legal counsel to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of external legal partners, ensuring timely and quality legal services.
Court Submissions and Proceedings: * Oversee the preparation and finalization of all court submissions, pleadings, and legal documentation.
  • Finalizing AIL submissions in various courts.
  • Represent the organization in court proceedings, hearings, and other legal forums as required.
Litigation Management: * Manage the entire lifecycle of litigation cases, from initiation to resolution, including case assessment, strategy development, negotiation, settlement, and enforcement of judgments.

Monitoring and Reporting: * Monitor the progress of ongoing litigation cases and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive litigation management information systems (MIS).
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: * Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate such risks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Team Leadership (if applicable): * Provide guidance and leadership to a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements:
  • Min 10+ years of exp post-Bachelor\'s degree in Law (LLB) // LLM from a recognized institution. Postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, procedures, and regulations related to litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex legal cases.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools, case management software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Membership in a state bar association is a plus.
