The Information security Architect should have:
Specializes in cloud security, primarily AWS, working consultatively with the Information Security department and Cloud Engineering teams.
AWS security experience including Identity and Access Management (IAM roles, policies, federation), network security (VPCs, security groups, NACLs, VPC Flow Logs), data protection (KMS encryption, S3 bucket policies), security monitoring services (GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail), authentication services (Cognito), application protection (AWS WAF), secure access (Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager).
Ability to drive proof of concepts of existing or new services on AWS or Azure as business needs arise.
Ability to drive architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Provide strategic thought leadership on enterprise cloud security posture, with a focus on leveraging emerging AI technologies and addressing the evolving risk associated with widespread AI adoption.
The role involves developing reference architectures for AWS security services, making recommendations on security processes and configurations, and building cross-functional relationships - this is advisory work with minimal hands-on implementation, requiring someone who can translate security requirements into clear architectural guidance.
