Job Description

The Sr Tech Lead is a technical expert responsible for ensuring high availability of a suite of applications in the production environment. You will participate/lead technical discussions and prioritize work streams during the service restoration process. You will lead root cause analysis, assess potential solutions and work with application and Infrastructure technology subject matter experts to introduce permanent fixes in the production environment. You will review and interrogate changes being introduced into the production environment to assess potential risk to the applications. This position suits a person who is a self-starter, thinks outside the box and enjoys coming up with innovative solutions to solve business and technology issues.

Role Overview




We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Tech Lead to spearhead cloud infrastructure initiatives and lead a team of DevOps engineers. This role demands a strong technical foundation in cloud platforms, automation, and CI/CD practices, along with proven leadership capabilities to drive team performance and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure (AWS Primary). Design and manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible. Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards across all environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align DevOps strategies with business goals. Drive continuous improvement in deployment processes, monitoring, and incident response. Handle technical escalations and provide guidance on complex issues.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Deployment Frequency: Number of successful production deployments per sprint/month. Change Failure Rate: Percentage of deployments causing failures in production. Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR): Average time taken to restore service after an incident. Infrastructure Cost Optimization: Reduction in cloud spend through automation and resource management. CI/CD Pipeline Efficiency: Time taken from code commit to production deployment. Automation Coverage: Percentage of infrastructure and operational tasks automated. Team Productivity: Velocity of DevOps team measured via sprint goals and deliverables. Security Compliance: Number of passed audits and adherence to security policies. Incident Response Time: Time taken to detect, respond, and resolve critical incidents. Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback scores from internal teams and business units.

Essential Technical Skills



Proven hands-on experience with

AWS Cloud

,

Amazon EKS

, and

Unix/Linux

environments. Strong proficiency in

CI/CD pipelines

using

Jenkins

, with integration across tools like

Artifactory

and

Bitbucket

. Skilled in managing and automating infrastructure using

Podman

for containerization and

Kubernetes

for orchestration. Practical knowledge of

DevOps workflows

supported by

Jira

for issue tracking and

Confluence

for documentation and collaboration. Experience in scripting with

Python

or similar languages to streamline automation and operational tasks. Solid understanding of cloud networking, storage solutions, and server lifecycle management. Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end DevOps solutions in global enterprise environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Professional Experience & Qualifications



Minimum 10 + years of IT experience in DevOps/SRE roles. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT; advanced degrees preferred. Industry certifications in Cloud Architecture or Development (Preferred: AWS). Strong grasp of SDLC, change management.

Leadership & Communication Skills



Demonstrated ability to lead and coach technical teams. Strong customer focus and service orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences. Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to evolving business needs.

Soft Skills



Proactive in staying updated with the latest cloud and DevOps trends. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Willingness to go beyond the defined role to support team and organizational goals. "Whatever is needed" attitude with a focus on ownership and accountability.
