Principal - Arts & Science College
. The Principal will be the academic and administrative head of the college, responsible for academic leadership, institutional development, regulatory compliance, and overall performance of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Provide strategic academic leadership in teaching, learning, and research
Ensure curriculum planning, delivery, and academic quality standards
Promote faculty development, research culture, and academic innovation
Administration & Governance
Oversee day-to-day administration of the college
Ensure compliance with University, UGC, NAAC, and other regulatory norms
Implement institutional policies, academic calendars, and procedures
Faculty & Staff Management
Lead, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff
Facilitate recruitment, performance appraisal, and capacity building
Foster a disciplined, ethical, and collaborative work culture
Student Affairs
Ensure student discipline, welfare, mentoring, and grievance redressal
Promote co-curricular, extracurricular, and extension activities
Support placement initiatives and career guidance
Institutional Development
Lead accreditation (NAAC), rankings, and quality assurance initiatives
Strengthen industry, academic, and community linkages
Support admissions growth, branding, and institutional reputation
Financial & Resource Management
Plan and monitor budgets in coordination with management
Ensure optimal utilisation of infrastructure and resources
Eligibility & Requirements
PhD in a relevant discipline
As per
UGC / University norms
for the post of Principal
Minimum required teaching and administrative experience in higher education
Proven experience as Principal / Vice Principal / HOD preferred
Strong academic record with research and publications
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and decision-making ability
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic planning and institutional management capability
Deep understanding of higher education regulations and accreditation processes
