Responsibilities

Lead and coach a team of engineering managers and engineers to build and operate scalable, reliable backend platform services for F&O. Architect, design, and implement services for scale, throughput, durability, and low latency, ensuring high availability and performance for enterprise customers. Drive innovation in service deployment and maintenance, automating processes to maximize reliability and minimize manual intervention. Partner with product management, design, user research, and marketing to deliver impactful solutions that align with business priorities and customer needs. Define requirements, KPIs, priorities, and planning for engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with growth objectives. Provide technical leadership for identifying dependencies, developing design documents, and optimizing code for maintainability and ROI. Foster a Live Site culture, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with teams across Microsoft (e.g., Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure) to drive platform growth and innovation. Mentor and develop talent, building an inclusive and high-performing team culture.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; OR equivalent experience. 5+ years of direct people management experience. Experience leading engineering teams in the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale, distributed platforms or services.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in development and design at scale, especially for cloud-based or SaaS platforms. Experience operating in an Agile environment. Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management. Experience with platform reliability, performance optimization, and cost management.
