In collaboration with Digital Technology leads and managers, this role oversees the Portfolio Management Product Manager, the Operational Incident Response Team, and Operational Resilience specialists, as well as other stakeholders ensuring that critical technology services remain stable, secure, and resilient. Within Digital Technology who depend on stable and resilient technology services.


The role will be responsible for leading and coordinating these teams to ensure successful delivery of portfolio initiatives, rapid and effective incident response, and robust operational resilience practices. This includes working horizontally across the enterprise, collaborating with Infrastructure, Application Development, Information Security, Service Management, and Portfolio function office to align delivery with business objectives.


You will engage with key partners across Identity & Access Management, ServiceNow, Change Management, Risk & Audit, and Vendor Management to integrate resilience planning and incident readiness into all aspects of technology delivery. The role also involves working with senior business leaders to prioritize portfolio outcomes, minimize operational risk, and ensure the organization can respond to and recover from disruption effectively.

The Principal Enterprise Technology Delivery & Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in turning strategy into execution, ensuring that platform products, and services are delivered with precision, efficiency, and resilience. This leadership role integrates product owners, delivery management discipline with deep technology expertise, being responsible for daily execution while shaping long term operational excellence.


As a senior leader, you will balance stakeholder priorities, make critical decisions on feature development and operational readiness, and ensure that delivery outcomes consistently meet quality, budget, and timeline commitments. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and senior executives to align technology investments with business priorities, develop innovation, and embed operational resilience into every stage of delivery.


By combining execution rigor with technical leadership, this role ensures the organization delivers secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions that enable enterprise growth and resilience at scale.


What you will deliver

Technology delivery management:

Oversee initiatives involving the development and implementation of products and services (SPM, Bright Ideas, and Lean IX) platforms, and business processes to achieve desired business outcomes. Create and manage roadmaps, schedules, and budgets. Act as the main liaison between stakeholders, development teams, and business units globally dispersed, at various levels within and outside of bp. Incorporate Agile frameworks to align and track project progress, resolve dependencies, and ensure continuous delivery of value.

Operational Resilience & Incident Response


Embed best-in-class resilience practices into delivery processes, ensuring that products and services are designed to withstand disruption. Lead coordination during major incidents, working directly with senior stakeholders to minimize business impact and accelerate recovery. Capture lessons learned from incidents and applied them to strengthen operational resilience and drive continuous improvement across teams.

ServiceNow Portfolio Ownership:

Serve as product owner for the ServiceNow portfolio, setting priorities, delivering value, and aligning enhancements with business needs. Work with platform manager, Digital Delivery product managers, architects, and service management teams to support operational excellence and enable Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) across the Digital technology team.

Data-driven decision-making:

Monitor products and services, working with stakeholders to set performance indicators and metrics for driving continuous improvement. Ensure regulatory compliance, optimize operations to meet investment goals, and promote transparency by sharing initiatives and metrics across bp. Seek feedback from internal users and define clear requirements for data ingestion into the Enterprise data lake.

Resource and vendor management:

Strategically manage internal teams, external suppliers, and technology partners to balance capacity and ensure efficient delivery without compromising quality.

Financial management:

Oversee budget planning, allocation, and tracking to ensure alignment with business objectives. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and deliver accurate reporting to support decision-making and optimize resource utilization across initiatives, platforms, or services.

Significant experience working across

Extensive experience in

Demonstrates a solid grasp of end-to-end portfolio performance management processes and outcomes.
Degree in

Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Strong background in enterprise service management platforms such as ServiceNow and operational frameworks including ITIL, SRE, resilience engineering, and continuous improvement, combined with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing. Skilled in project delivery and service management, enabling the seamless integration of engineering solutions with operational processes to enhance reliability, scalability, and business value.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage at senior executive levels.
Deep technical savvy with the ability to engage in architectural and product discussions.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
