Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging microservices architecture. Develop, manage, and execute the technology roadmap in line with CTO Office objectives, ensuring alignment with business and tribe needs Drive architectural reviews and establish technology standards, best practices, and frameworks for cloud and microservices adoption. Build rapid prototypes and scale them to production-grade solutions, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. Champion DevOps and CI/CD best practices, ensuring robust automation and high-quality delivery pipelines. Collaborate with product owners, tribe leads, and stakeholders to shape and deliver features that meet customer and business needs. Own end-to-end delivery of features and solutions, from concept through to production and ongoing support. Drive operational excellence through cost management, performance optimisation, and business continuity planning. Mentor and nurture technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence. Promote knowledge sharing, mentorship, and the development of comprehensive learning paths for associates Engage in global engineering collaboration, tech innovation initiatives, and external conferences to keep the organisation at the forefront of technology trends.

Required Skills & Experience

14+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant exposure to AWS cloud, microservices, and distributed systems. Proven expertise in designing and building large-scale, cloud-native applications using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB). Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java or Golang, and experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform). Deep understanding of microservices design patterns, API management, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline). Solid grasp of non-functional requirements: performance, security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, conduct architectural reviews, and drive technical excellence. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, delivering significant functionality in iterative sprints. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders. Comfortable managing ambiguity, taking initiative, and operating with minimal direction. Willingness and ability to "roll up your sleeves" and be hands-on in technical problem-solving. Experience with learning and development initiatives, mentorship programmes, or technical career pathing is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification. Experience with AI/ML tools and integrating AI capabilities into cloud solutions. Exposure to global engineering collaboration and open source/patent initiatives.
