HARMAN Ready Care is an industry first solution that enhances in-vehicle experiences by monitoring the driver's eyes, cognitive state, and vital signs prioritizing safety and well-being. As a Principal Engineer, you will apply your advanced technical and programming expertise to develop innovative camera-based deep learning solutions. Your role will focus on camera pipelines, computer vision, and perception systems to drive the performance and validation of key perception features. You will work cross-functionally within the R&D organization, collaborating with multiple teams to refine and validate in-cabin camera features helping to bring next-generation mobility experiences to life.What You Will DoEvaluate and identify the most effective algorithmic solutions that fulfil perception feature requirements, following industry best practices in development methodologies.Assess how image sensor and camera pipeline specifications influence the performance of deep learning-based perception systems.Establish performance metrics and conduct in-depth quantitative analysis to evaluate system effectiveness.Design and execute experiments, including data collection using various sensor configurations and optical setups, to explore and understand key architectural trade-offs.What You Need to Be SuccessfulOver 12 years of relevant industry experience.Proficient in C++ and Python programming with strong coding expertise.Solid conceptual foundation in camera pipelines, computer vision, deep learning, and statistical analysis.Practical experience with image sensors and camera systems, contributing to the design and development of vision-based solutions.Proven track record in deploying and optimizing advanced AI applications on embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, Samsung Exynos, and Qualcomm Snapdragon.Bonus Points if You HaveMaster's degree in a relevant field such as Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience in defining technical requirements for camera pipelines based on hands-on feature or solution development.Background in automotive product development with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.What Makes You EligibleWorking from Bangalore officeWhat We OfferFlexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer locationAccess to employee discounts on world-class Harman and Samsung products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN UniversityCompetitive wellness benefitsTuition reimbursementBe Brilliant employee recognition and rewards programAn inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal developmentYou Belong HereHARMAN is committed to making every employee feel welcomed, valued, and empowered.
