Principal Engineer Oracle EPBCS
Abou the Role:
As a Principal Engineer Oracle EPM Planning (EPBCS), you will lead the design, configuration, and delivery of enterprise planning solutions across Capex, Opex, Headcount, Workforce, and Long-Range Planning. You will serve as the senior-most builder ensuring accuracy, scalability, and innovation in enterprise planning and forecasting processes. Operating across multiple domains, you will define reusable patterns, influence solution architecture, and mentor peers, setting the standard for planning excellence in a global finance transformation program.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of EPBCS applications for Capex, Opex, Workforce, Headcount, and Long-Range Planning.
  • Define and implement driver-based models, calculation rules, and planning templates for forecasting and budgeting cycles.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to align planning solutions with strategic initiatives, corporate reporting, and scenario modeling.
  • Provide architectural oversight for EPBCS data flows, integrations, and hierarchies using Data Management and EDMCS.
  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle delivery: requirements, design, configuration, testing, documentation, cutover, deployment, and hypercare support.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, governance models, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Mentor Engineers and Senior Engineers, review deliverables, and enforce engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and transformation leaders to shape the long-term planning roadmap.
What You Will Bring:
  • 12-15 years of Oracle EPM/Hyperion experience with at least 7+ years in EPBCS/Planning Cloud.
  • Proven expertise in Capex, Opex, Workforce/Headcount Planning, and Long-Range Strategic Planning.
  • Deep knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling, allocations, and driver-based planning.
  • Strong experience in designing calculation rules (Groovy/Calc Manager), data forms, business rules, and Smart View templates.
  • Hands-on experience integrating EPBCS with ERP and EPM (FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS, EPRCS).
  • Outstanding leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven experience leading multi-phase planning implementations with SDLC methodology.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor global teams.
  • High level of adaptability and resilience in fast-changing environments.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to translate complex planning requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Excellent understanding of finance planning cycles, including annual operating plan (AOP), rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly/quarterly forecast processes.
Must Have Skills:
  • Oracle EPM,
  • Financial Planning
Nice-to-Have:
  • Oracle Certifications in Planning and Budgeting Cloud (EPBCS).
  • Exposure to narrative reporting, predictive planning, and rolling forecasts.
  • Experience with performance tuning of calculation rules and large planning applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery tools (JIRA, Confluence) and DevOps practices.
