We are hiring a

Principal Engineer - Early Stage Products

to architect, build, and scale technology platforms from first principles. This is a hands-on leadership role for engineers who have repeatedly succeeded in zero-to-one and one-to-scale environments and want deep influence over product, architecture, and engineering culture.
You will work as a core technical partner to founders and early leadership, translating vision into resilient systems and production-ready products. This role blends backend engineering depth, full-stack execution, and applied AI, with high ownership from day one.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Technical Ownership:

Lead the design and development of core platform capabilities across backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications.

System Architecture:

Define scalable, secure, and high-availability system architectures that support rapid iteration and long-term growth.

AI Enablement:

Build and integrate intelligent features using LLMs, ML services, or automation pipelines to deliver real-world product value.

Product Collaboration:

Partner closely with founders and product leaders to shape technical strategy, roadmap priorities, and execution plans.

Engineering Excellence:

Write high-quality, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and observability.

Technical Leadership:

Set standards for system design, code quality, testing, and deployment practices across the engineering team.

Team Building:

Mentor early engineers, support hiring efforts, and help establish a strong, scalable engineering culture.

Technology Strategy:

Evaluate and adopt tools, frameworks, and infrastructure that align with long-term platform scalability and developer velocity.

What We're Looking For
4-10 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant impact in early-stage or high-growth startups.
Demonstrated experience working closely with well-regarded founders and venture-backed leadership teams.
Deep backend expertise, including API design, databases, distributed systems, and system architecture.
Strong full-stack capabilities with modern frontend frameworks and backend integrations.
Hands-on experience applying AI in production environments (LLMs, ML APIs, data pipelines, or intelligent workflows).
Ability to operate autonomously, make high-quality technical decisions, and thrive amid ambiguity.
Clear communicator with a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.
