Job Summary

• Job Title \xe2\x80\x93 Principal Engineer HW Test

• Location \xe2\x80\x93 Whitefield, Bangalore

This role will actively contribute towards the development of test fixtures and tools. Develop a test framework and validation of the same. Review test artifacts and drive improvements in V&V efficiency across release trains. Drive reviews with quality team and ensure closure of all comments/gaps/non-compliances.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute verification test methods, protocols, and reports for verification for requirement.
• Drive quality into product development through analysis, test and timely feedback of test results to the cross functional team.
• Design test cases to include test methodology, test setups, materials, equipment, procedure, and acceptance criteria based on requirement and standards.
• Own and drive failure mode analysis and root cause investigations and develop solutions.
• Drive functional testing of mechanical assemblies and electrical circuits. Own the design verification and IQ/OQ/PQ
• Document, manage and maintain test records consistent with formal test processes and Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and design reviews.
• Create and validate test systems needed for design verification.
• Review and analyze requirements as part of test development.
• Support hardware team in product development, concept feasibility and change activities by developing test, collecting, and providing test data.
• Setup relations with external test houses(such as EMI, EMC tests for electrical boards and full device) to define the test scope, author the test plans, test procedures, execute & consolidate the reports
• Plan and prepare for timely test execution by managing test material procurement and test documentation readiness such as protocols.
• Review, understand and characterize electrical and mechanical designs to develop test methods and ensure coverage of requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or a related specialization with 10-14 years of related work experience

Skills

• Ability to Troubleshoot and be resourceful - can leverage own expertise and input from others to identify and resolve critical issues. Understanding of root cause analysis methods.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines with the ability to read, understand and analyze electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• An understanding of test methods and processes as well as the methods used to verify product in the realms of; software, mechanical, electrical, functional and environmental testing environments.
• Experience using electrical and mechanical lab equipment such as an oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, force/pressure gauge and caliper.
• Takes a hands-on approach to testing, fault diagnosis and isolation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and other office productivity tools.
• Clear and effective communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
• Experience creating detailed, clear and complete documentation and records. Experience with a Quality Management System preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills and be able to work well with others across disciplines collaboratively.
• Comfortable and effective in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties.

• Experienced in facing internal/External Audits. Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills
