Summary: Responsible for developing creative solutions to challenging issues associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing dialysis product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid \xe2\x80\x9chands-on\xe2\x80\x9d technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\xef\x82\xb7 Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
\xef\x82\xb7 Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.
\xef\x82\xb7 Subject matter expert with in-depth design knowledge of electronic hardware circuits like analog circuits, digital circuits, power supplies, etc.
\xef\x82\xb7 Analyzes circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
\xef\x82\xb7 Completes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.
\xef\x82\xb7 Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technician on assigned work
\xef\x82\xb7 Effectively applies advanced engineering principles with focus on design, experimental and computational methods to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.
\xef\x82\xb7 Develops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications, and drawings.
\xef\x82\xb7 Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
\xef\x82\xb7 Transitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes.
\xef\x82\xb7 Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners.
\xef\x82\xb7 Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market.
\xef\x82\xb7 Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
\xef\x82\xb7 Leads the troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices/ subsystems.

\xef\x82\xb7 Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables, and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.
\xef\x82\xb7 Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective / Preventive action as needed. Mentor peers / Engineers in the stream of their expertise and on the processes.

Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably medical devices, or other highly regulated products.
  • Subject matter expert with in-depth design knowledge of electronic hardware circuits like analog circuits, digital circuits, power supplies, etc.
  • Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW).
  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 61010, UL, ANSI, and ASTM
  • Understanding of FDA, ISO and IEC design control procedures, regulations, and standards is a plus.
  • Proven experience in delivering healthcare devices to meet IEC basic safety, EMI-EMC standards and working closely with the regulatory bodies and affiliated labs is highly desirable. \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
Education and/or Experience:
\xef\x82\xb7 Graduate or Post-Graduate in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering. 15+ years related experience.
