The Principal Engineer will lead the design and technical development of BMS, GRMS, and SCADA systems within a consultancy setup. The role focuses on producing high-quality designs, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project standards. This position requires strong design depth, solid communication skills, and the ability to guide teams across multiple project stages.
Lead concept, schematic, and detailed design for BMS, GRMS, and SCADA systems.
Prepare design reports, control philosophies, layouts, schematics, points lists, and equipment schedules.
Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, and client representatives to ensure smooth design integration.
Review vendor submissions, design proposals, and equipment selections to ensure compliance with specifications.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to design engineers and CAD/BIM teams.
Conduct design reviews, compliance checks, and value engineering exercises.
Support tender documentation, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Participate in client meetings, workshops, and technical presentations.
Ensure designs follow relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
Assist the site team during design clarifications, RFIs, and commissioning stages when needed.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in BMS, GRMS, and SCADA design within a consultancy or design-focused role.
Strong understanding of HVAC controls, energy management, room automation, and integration protocols.
Proficiency with major BMS platforms and industry-standard design tools.
Sound knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, IEC, ISO, etc.).
Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a consultancy environment.
Ability to manage multiple design packages and meet deadlines.
Certifications such as CET, PMP, or LEED are an advantage.
