Job Description

:
We are looking for a talented and passionate internal electrical engineer to become part of our team. This role will be within Central Engineering, focusing on Power Systems. The chosen candidate will have the responsibility of aiding in the engineering of customized low-voltage and medium-voltage equipment.
The ideal candidate is well-versed in engineering of low-voltage and/or medium-voltage engineered-to-order (ETO) equipment, with strong experience in MV switchgear design, including air-insulated and preferably gas-insulated switchgear.
What will you do?

  • Engage in strategy discussions alongside the sales, quotation, and project management teams for significant projects to formulate successful plans that meet project objectives and client needs.
  • Examine all customer-supplied documents, including technical specifications, customer one-lines, and other materials, to develop effective and harmonized solutions provided by Schneider Electric.
  • Conduct thorough order reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications, technical requirements, and company standards.
  • Create all engineering documents--including drawings, one-lines, foundation drawings, wire lists, and bills of material--for customer approval.
  • Take full ownership and responsibility for managing and processing large electrical projects without constant supervision, ensuring coordination, timely completion, and high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate with plant engineering teams for smoother project execution.
  • Coordinate and support production issues for timely delivery to the customer.
  • Provide technical leadership on medium-voltage switchgear designs, with emphasis on air-insulated (AIS) and preferable familiarity with gas-insulated (GIS) switchgear architectures, protection schemes, and application considerations.
What skills will you need to be successful?
  • Be an outgoing and energetic professional who thinks strategically and creatively.
  • Strive for value-added solutions and identify quick wins (agile thinking).
  • Must be well-organized and a self-starter who works well with people.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical concepts around Schneider Electric's ETO equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering tools used in Schneider Electric such as Order Editor, SEE Electrical, SEE PM, ACE, ACE Test, etc.
  • Possess an advanced level of technical experience within the ETO product portfolio.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge of audio/video recording and production techniques.
What are the technical requirements of the role?
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Experience designing control schemes and utilizing PLCs and/or relays to deliver efficient customer solutions.
  • Experience creating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical schemes.
  • Experience with Modbus communications, utility metering, and circuit monitoring applications.
  • Familiarity with Modbus and TCP/IP communication protocols, RS-485, Ethernet, and other third-party interfaces.
  • Strong, hands-on experience in medium-voltage (MV) switchgear design is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with air-insulated switchgear (AIS) design and application is required; experience with gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MV protection schemes, arc-flash mitigation methods, breaker controls, interlocking, and system integration is highly desirable.
