Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant- IT WPS Desktop Engineering Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Service Desktop engineering Lead to lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions across our organization. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and innovation.
Responsibilities
Device Lifecycle Management
Own end-to-end lifecycle management of Windows and Macintosh laptops.
Plan and execute regular device refresh cycles, including forecasting and coordination with procurement, imaging, configuration, and deployment teams.
Maintain asset tracking and reporting throughout the device lifecycle.
Oversee system patching, security updates, and OS upgrades to align with vendor-supported versions.
Monitor OS end-of-life timelines and ensure proactive readiness for upgrades.
Application Packaging & Catalog Management
Lead end-to-end application packaging for both Windows and macOS platforms.
Manage packaging services to support new business requests and application needs.
Oversee application catalog management, including onboarding, version control, and decommissioning obsolete packages.
Conduct periodic audits of application usage, license compliance, and package relevancy.
Partner with security and compliance teams for license, patch, and vulnerability management.
Analyze application usage data to drive rationalization initiatives.
Hardware Refresh Planning
Maintain and update hardware refresh models based on lifecycle guidelines.
Coordinate image deployment, device swaps, and decommissioning of retired hardware.
Communicate with end users to ensure smooth transitions during refresh activities.
Tool Administration & Governance
Administer and manage desktop management tools, including:
Microsoft Intune (Windows)
JAMF Pro (macOS)
PatchMyPC or equivalent patch management tools
Ensure tools are optimized, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Monitor tool performance, patch compliance, and deployment success rates.
Platform-Specific Responsibilities
macOS Environment
Troubleshoot macOS-related issues and provide end-user support.
Manage Intune-enrolled macOS devices and associated configuration policies.
Handle license allocation, patch updates, and application deployments via JAMF.
Create and maintain configuration profiles and perform macOS compliance audits.
Intune Environment
Troubleshoot Intune enrollment and policy-related issues.
Manage device compliance, configuration, and Cloud PC environments.
Oversee application lifecycle and license allocation.
Packaging Environment
Package Win32 applications and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Handle custom packaging requests and manage deployments to production.
Maintain PatchMyPC for automated patch management.
VDI Environment
Administer and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
Manage automation scripts, privilege controls, and application deployment.
Support Netskope, Entra ID, Privileged Single Sign-On (PSSO), and endpoint security compliance.
Provide remote support for end-user devices (laptops, printers, mobiles) and coordinate with onsite teams for hardware checks and triaging.
Deep knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Azure AD.
Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, and Autopilot.
Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
Experience designing large-scale Windows desktop environments.
Understanding of networking, cloud architecture, and security frameworks.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant years of progressive experience in Desktop Engineering / EUC / Device Management roles with at least minimum years in Architectural roles
Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Intune, JAMF Pro, PatchMyPC, and Windows/macOS administration.
Proven experience managing packaging, patching, and compliance operations at scale.
Deep understanding of VDI, Entra ID, SSO, and endpoint security frameworks.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
ITIL Certified with sound understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset Management).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence and automation.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Exposure to Exchange
Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Exposure to ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.
Prior experience in global or multi-region IT operations.
Strong focus on security compliance and audit readiness.
Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
