Job Purpose: As the Exploration Lead, the primary objective is to oversee and manage all aspects of exploration activities within the mining operation. This role involves strategizing, planning, and executing exploration programs to identify and evaluate potential mineral resources. The Exploration Lead plays a crucial role in maximizing the discovery and development of mineral deposits while ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Exploration Lead - Mining
Exploration Strategy Development:
*Develop comprehensive exploration strategies aligned with the organization's objectives and geological potential of the region.
*Evaluate geological data, historical exploration results, and regional geological trends to identify prospective areas for exploration.
*Collaborate with senior management and geological experts to define exploration targets and prioritize exploration activities.
Exploration Program Management:
Plan and execute exploration programs, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, and drilling campaigns.
Manage exploration budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient and effective execution of exploration activities.
Coordinate logistics, equipment procurement, and contractor management for field exploration operations.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
Analyze and interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to delineate mineralized zones and assess exploration prospects.
Utilize advanced geological modeling software and techniques to integrate and visualize exploration data for resource estimation and target generation.
Collaborate with geologists, geochemists, and geophysicists to refine geological models and optimize exploration targeting strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
Engage with local communities, government agencies, and regulatory authorities to obtain permits, approvals, and social licenses for exploration activities.
Foster positive relationships with landowners, indigenous groups, and other stakeholders to address concerns and ensure smooth exploration operations.
Collaborate with internal teams, including mine planning, environmental, and legal departments, to integrate exploration results into mine development plans and regulatory compliance.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols to ensure the well-being of exploration teams and minimize environmental impact.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to address hazards associated with exploration activities, including drilling, fieldwork, and camp operations.
Monitor compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.

Responsibilities:
Exploration Strategy Development:

*Evaluate geological data, historical exploration results, and regional geological trends to identify prospective areas for exploration.
*Collaborate with senior management and geological experts to define exploration targets and prioritize exploration activities.
Geological Modeling and Analysis
*Develop geological models for limestone, iron ore, and other mineral deposits.
*Perform reserve estimation and classification based on geological and geospatial data.
*Conduct geostatistical analysis and qualitative modeling of mineral deposits to support resource evaluation.
*Utilize remote sensing data to enhance the accuracy and reliability of geological models.
Exploration Planning and Execution
*Plan and budget for greenfield projects and infill drilling programs, ensuring alignment with project goals.
*Develop exploration strategies based on geological and remote sensing data.
*Interact with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the execution of exploration programs.
*Maintain effective communication and coordination with regulatory bodies, technical partners, and project teams.
