The Role
Lead efforts to improve security for cloud and SaaS systems (Azure/AWS) used in geoscience software. Create security plans, check systems regularly, fix issues, and follow industry standards like NIST and ISO. Work independently, team up with cybersecurity experts, and help other teams meet security goals.



Covers cloud services, tools, user accounts, data, networks, logging systems, and deployment processes. Does not include industrial systems or corporate cybersecurity. Works with engineering, cybersecurity, product security, compliance, PMO, and operations teams.
Your ImpactGovernance, Risk & Compliance - Set up and manage a security plan for Professional Services. Track risks and goals, keep security controls up to date, and prepare for audits by collecting evidence and fixing issues. Cloud & SaaS Security Architecture - Create security rules for cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) covering identity, data, networks, and logging. Apply Zero Trust principles to ensure only the right people and systems have access. Posture Management & Assurance -Regularly check security status, find gaps, and plan fixes. Track key metrics like coverage, misconfigurations, and response times. Identity, Data Protection & Network Controls - Use strong identity checks (like MFA), protect data with encryption and access rules, and set up secure network paths that follow Zero Trust. Detection & Response Readiness - Set up logging and monitoring tools, create response plans, and run practice exercises. Improve how quickly and effectively threats are found and handled. Secure Engineering & Delivery Enablement - Build security into development processes. Use safe coding practices, document standards, train engineers, and create reusable security tools. Responsible for setting security standards, checking systems, planning fixes, and reporting results. Can approve security rules and raise concerns if risks are too high. Works with cybersecurity and compliance teams and keeps leadership informed.

What You'll NeedA minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or in combination of a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Strong knowledge of cloud security (Azure/AWS), including identity, data, networks, and monitoring. Familiar with security frameworks like NIST and ISO. Able to turn security findings into action plans. Works independently and helps guide teams. Solves problems clearly, sets priorities based on risk, writes clear documents, and communicates well with stakeholders. Internal: Engineering, delivery teams, operations, security, compliance, PMO, legal/privacy. External: Occasionally works with customers or vendors for audits and security checks. * #LI-RK1
