Data Center L3 Network Engineer

:

The

F5 Operations L2 Engineer

is responsible for

supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting

F5 BIG-IP

devices, including

LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, and ASM modules

. The role requires handling incidents, service requests, and changes while ensuring high availability and security of network services

.

Responsibilities

Monitor,

maintain

, and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP load balancers (LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, ASM).

Perform L2-level support for production incidents, ensuring

timely

resolution.

Implement and validate F5 configurations, including virtual servers, pools,

iRules

, and SSL certificates.

Collaborate with L3 teams for complex escalations and root cause analysis.

Apply firmware upgrades, patches, and security fixes as per compliance standards.

Assist

in

capacity

planning, performance optimization, and log analysis.

Work on F5

iRules

and automation scripts (e.g., using Bash, Python, or Ansible).

Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and solutions for knowledge sharing.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams for network and application integration.

Adhere to ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Minimum

Q

ualifications

/ Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

Good

experience

in managing F5 Load Balancers (BIG-IP LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, ASM).

Strong knowledge of F5

iRules

, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S, DNS, and TCP/IP.

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting F5 devices using

logs, packet captures, and dashboards

.

Good understanding of networking concepts like VLANs, Routing, NAT, SNAT, and Firewalls.

Experience with

F5 CLI, TMSH, and REST API

for automation and troubleshooting.

Basic scripting knowledge (

Python, Bash, or Ansible

) is a plus.

Exposure to cloud-based load balancing solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.

Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).

Strong analytical and communication skills

F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-101 & F5-201)

CCNA or equivalent networking certification

ITIL v4 Foundation (optional)
