About the Role

We are building a production-grade decentralized exchange (DEX) with a strong focus on security, reliability, and operational readiness.

We are seeking a highly experienced blockchain architect and DeFi protocol expert to lead the technical design, security architecture, and launch execution of our DEX platform.

This is a senior-level, cash-compensated role with full responsibility over protocol architecture and critical technical decisions.

Equity is not part of the compensation structure.

Key Responsibilities

Protocol and Smart Contract Architecture

- Design and own the core DEX protocol architecture (AMM, orderbook, or hybrid)

- Architect secure, upgradeable, and gas-efficient smart contracts

- Define protocol mechanics including fees, liquidity incentives, and execution flows

- Identify and mitigate risks related to MEV, oracle manipulation, flash loans, and reentrancy

- Lead external smart contract audits and post-audit remediation

System and Infrastructure Design

- Design on-chain and off-chain system architecture

- Define indexer, data pipeline, and API strategy

- Guide real-time data delivery using WebSocket and event-driven systems

- Advise on blockchain node infrastructure and redundancy

- Provide architectural guidance for cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)

Security and Operational Readiness

- Establish threat models, security standards, and emergency mechanisms

- Design multisig, timelocks, circuit breakers, and upgrade governance

- Prepare the platform for mainnet launch and production operations

- Define monitoring and incident response strategies

Technical Leadership and Advisory

- Act as the final technical authority for protocol architecture decisions

- Review and guide internal engineers and external vendors

- Clearly communicate technical trade-offs to founders and stakeholders

- Produce architecture diagrams and technical documentation

Required Qualifications

Experience

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

- 4+ years of hands-on blockchain or DeFi development

- Proven experience designing and deploying mainnet DeFi protocols

Blockchain and DeFi Expertise

- Deep understanding of EVM-compatible blockchains

- Advanced proficiency in Solidity

- Hands-on experience with:

- AMM-based decentralized exchanges

- Orderbook or hybrid trading systems

- Core DeFi primitives such as oracles, liquidity pools, and vaults

- Strong understanding of gas optimization and protocol-level trade-offs

Security

- Demonstrated experience addressing real-world smart contract vulnerabilities

- Strong understanding of DeFi attack vectors and mitigation techniques

- Experience working with or coordinating professional audit firms

Backend and Infrastructure

- Experience designing or advising on indexers and blockchain data services

- Familiarity with real-time systems and event-driven architectures

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP

- Comfortable working in Linux-based production environments

- Experience with cross-chain or multi-chain architectures

- Knowledge of MEV dynamics and mitigation strategies

- Experience designing governance or upgrade mechanisms

- Prior experience as a protocol architect or lead engineer

- Strong technical documentation and system design communication skills

- On-site work in the Philippines is mandatory

- Relocation support may be discussed for international candidates

- Full-time or long-term consulting engagement available

- Flexible start date based on candidate availability

Compensation

- Competitive cash-based compensation only

- Salary or monthly consulting retainer, depending on engagement model

- No equity, token, or ownership component

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹1,500,000.00 per month
