The Principal is the chief academic and administrative head of the Arts & Science College, responsible for academic leadership, faculty management, student development, regulatory compliance, and overall institutional growth in alignment with university, UGC, and state norms.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
Provide strategic academic direction for UG and PG Arts & Science programs.
Ensure curriculum delivery as per University, UGC, and regulatory guidelines.
Promote teaching excellence, research culture, and academic innovation.
Monitor academic performance, results, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Administration & Governance
Lead day-to-day college administration and policy implementation.
Manage faculty recruitment, performance appraisal, and staff development.
Oversee timetable planning, workload distribution, and academic calendars.
Ensure compliance with University affiliation, NAAC, IQAC, and audit requirements.
Faculty & Student Development
Mentor faculty for academic growth, research, and publications.
Foster a student-centric learning environment with discipline and inclusivity.
Address student grievances and promote ethical and professional conduct.
Quality Assurance & Accreditation
Lead NAAC, IQAC, and other accreditation processes.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and academic audits.
Implement quality benchmarks and institutional best practices.
Institutional Growth & Outreach
Strengthen industry linkages, MoUs, internships, and skill-development initiatives.
Represent the institution in academic, administrative, and public forums.
Support admissions, branding, and institutional reputation-building activities.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Arts / Science / Humanities / Commerce (as per UGC norms)
Minimum
15 years
of teaching experience, including
administrative experience
as HOD / Dean / Vice Principal / Principal
Strong familiarity with University, UGC, and NAAC regulations
Skills & Competencies
Strong academic leadership and decision-making ability
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Effective communication and team management
Experience in accreditation, audits, and institutional development
Strategic planning and stakeholder coordination skills
