About the job
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Architect (based at our Gurugram, India office) to lead the technical direction and architectural strategy of our commercial SaaS portfolio that provides workforce and operations management solutions within the hospitality market.
You will define and drive the architectural vision for our global web and mobile platforms, accountable for our Platform (Survey, Analytics, Integrations, Staff Collaboration), and Operations solutions, and ensuring they are scalable, secure, optimized for performance, and cost-effective.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can design scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures while collaborating with multiple stakeholders across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.
In partnership with other Architect accountable for our Time and Attendance, Planning and Scheduling, Budgeting, and AWS devops / tooling, and our migration initiative, you will play a critical role in driving innovation, ensuring operational resilience, and maintaining sustainable and cost-efficient architectures.
What will you do?

• Architectural Strategy and Vision: Develop and articulate a clear architectural vision and roadmap for the company's SaaS Platform and Operations solutions, aligning with both short-term and long-term business objectives. Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance architectures for global web and mobile platforms, integrating emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Conduct architectural reviews to ensure the technical feasibility of solutions, promoting proactive problem-solving.
• Technology Roadmap and Implementation: Define and maintain a technology roadmap that guides the evolution of our solutions, prioritizing modernization, scalability, and maintainability. Oversee the adoption of cloud-native technologies and microservices, optimizing for sustainability and cost efficiency. Identify and address technical debt in collaboration with product managers, ensuring updates are integrated into development roadmaps.
• Hands-On Execution: Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) to validate ideas and pave the way for full-scale implementation.
• AI Mindset: Leverage AI tools and principles to enhance product capabilities and adapt to evolving industry trends.
• Security, Compliance, and Performance: Ensure all solutions meet security and compliance standards (ISO, SOC, GDPR) and collaborate with security teams to maintain robust security measures. Optimize system performance to achieve low latency, high availability, and scalability to handle increasing traffic and data volumes.
• Data Architecture and Analytics: Oversee the design and implementation of data architectures supporting advanced analytics, including telemetry systems for monitoring performance, security, and scalability. Support the integration of AI and machine learning to enhance data-driven decision-making and analytics capabilities.
• Application Interfaces and Integration: Establish and manage strategies for secure, scalable, and well-documented APIs, ensuring seamless integration with third-party systems and internal applications.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key technical advisor during client engagements, aligning the technology roadmap with client expectations and business strategies.
• Operational Resilience and Incident Management: Develop strategies for operational resilience, ensuring the architecture can recover quickly from disruptions. Lead initiatives to minimize the impact of security audits and penetration tests, ensuring ongoing security practices are effectively implemented.

We are looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software architecture and design, with significant exposure to SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, and mobile solutions.
• Proven experience in architecting large-scale, data-intensive, and high-traffic web and mobile applications.
• Solid Java programming experience with the ability to think beyond language or framework constraints.
• Strong background with AWS, Services-Architecture and web-scale design patterns
• Hands on experience in building platform architecture and microservices / containerization technologies.
• Well versed with AI/ML concepts, GenAI tools & frameworks and practical application in enterprise solutions.
• Experience with ETL, data integration, data pipelines and lake house architectures
• Deep understanding of security, compliance, and performance optimization in cloud-based environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future challenges and proactively address them.
• Expertise in API design, cloud-native architectures, and the integration of AI/ML technologies
• Ability and desire for transparent communication and influence at the executive level.
