We are looking for a Principal Architect - Collibra Data Governance Center to be based at our new Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru, India to support our drive to establish excellence in master data management. The role will play an important part in the journey to establish data as a source of competitive advantage for the company through global analytics. The Principal Architect - Collibra Data Governance Center will be a partner to several Business Units at GSK in implementing a data governance roadmap with Collibra as the enterprise data governance platform with a focus on data quality and be accountable to deliver flawless execution of the MDM activities and support the execution of the agreed outcome of the MDM Transformation at GSK (in line with the agreed strategy and operating model toolset). This role will ensure that all relevant data is owned, captured with quality on a timely basis, avoiding rework, meaning that the business operates effectively, avoiding the hidden costs of bad data. With a global remit, the role will necessitate interacting with many different markets across all GSK regions. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following.

  • 10+ Years of overall experience in Data Governance Programs, Platforms, Process in a global life sciences company or similar industry in a matrix organization
  • Operational and/or technical experience in data stewardship and data governance implementations using Collibra Data Governance Center.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: data scanners, data dictionaries, data warehouses, reporting or system extracts, metadata, business semantics, Big Data.
  • Solid understanding of current data governance topics
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in data issues such as data quality, reference data etc.
  • Client interface and consulting skills required
  • Implement Collibra Workflows to enable data management capabilities
  • Develop integration between Collibra and other systems leveraging Collibra API
  • Configure Collibra as per business requirements
  • Work with Collibra Connect to integrate applications with Collibra Data Governance Center
  • Work with Collibra to extract data from different systems/applications for Data Lineage.
  • Partner with Data Stewards for requirements, integrations and processes, participate in meetings and working sessions
  • Partner with Data Management and integration leads to continuously improve Data Management technologies and processes
  • Outline and apply software development best practices
  • Responsible for health of Collibra production system
  • Responsible for upgrades and future developments of Data Governance tool suites
  • BA or BS in Business or Computer Science (Masters degree preferable)
  • Practical knowledge of database systems (RDBMS)
  • Practical knowledge of Java, Python or other programming languages
  • Practical knowledge of scripting (e.g., Groovy, Shell, JavaScript...)
  • Practical knowledge of API access (e.g., REST)

  • Experience supporting best practices for Enterprise MDM
  • Experience in the maintenance and review of the content of Data Dictionary, Data Quality Rules monitoring and fixing data issues
  • Good data analytical skills
  • Proven track record managing MDM teams.
  • Knowledge of developing MDM Service capability to meet business growth plans
