Role

Acumen, Part of Sannam S4 Group seeks a Principal Adviser for India Initiatives to advise and work with US University for activities in India. The Principal Adviser will be accountable primarily to the Vice President for Global as the client contact and would work closely with leadership across the University as a key liaison for to Faculty stakeholders, Research Leadership, Alumni, corporate partners, current and potential students, and business & educational institutions in the country. We are looking for an individual with sophisticated communication skills, digital literacy, and personal style to carry the brand with high levels of integrity and ethics.

This individual will assist the Vice President for Global with brand building and multi-faceted engagement efforts in India. The Principal Adviser will serve as a front-line business development representative to create new opportunities in research opportunities, corporate sponsorships, and executive education, generating connections and expanding the brand on behalf of University\'s leadership. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the Indian Higher Education sector, the country\'s business community, existing connections with appropriate Ministries and Government Networks, experience working in a university or corporate representative office at a senior level, and strong familiarity with the US Higher Education sector.

Main Responsibilities

Relationship Management / Business Development

  • Represent the enterprise at appropriate higher education and industry events, conferences, and networking activities to identify business opportunities, stay informed of trends in the sector and corporate community, and develop potential new contacts that advance University interests in the region.
  • Support the University and alumni leadership engagement with key regional corporate stakeholders to promote the university\'s programs
  • Coordinate appropriate engagements for senior leadership and faculty in the market to advance key business opportunities and maximize brand impact and relationship development for the enterprise.
  • Support faculty and student engagement in travel to India and the region, including creating opportunities for visiting cohorts or groups, arranging engagement for university centers of excellence, and connecting faculty in India with appropriate outlets.
  • Work with University Public Affairs and Global marketing team to advance University\'s PR efforts and build the presence and brand in India.
  • Provide feedback and information on current news in the region and brief University representatives when traveling in the region.
  • In coordination with Global leadership, identify and pursue opportunities for University degree and non-degree offerings in the market, in both open enrollment and custom programs.
  • Master\'s qualification degree required; PhD strongly preferred. A degree from the US will be preferred. The ideal candidate will have minimum 15 years of relevant work experience.
Experience
  • Experience of working in the international higher education sector or similar environment for at least 10 to 15 years.
  • Experience of the higher education sector in the US through work or study.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategies within budget and deadlines.
  • Experience of developing collaborative agreements and partnerships.
  • Voluntary or other life experience that demonstrates creativity, hard work, persistence, or drive to succeed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • Knowledge of higher education in the US and India.
  • Knowledge of international higher education and experience supporting brand development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to plan and execute strategic initiatives, events, and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability planning events and high-level leadership engagements for representatives of an institution in the country.
  • Knowledge of the operations of a representative/liaison/entity office for a university, other educational institution, or corporation.
  • Strong communicator, both in written and verbal formats.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, empathy, integrity, and collaborative ability.
  • Demonstrated leadership presence to represent the University brand and build strong relationships with internal and external constituencies.
