The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages young children (ages 2-6) to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. The teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities in line with the school's curriculum and philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities suitable for the age and developmental level of the students.
Introduce foundational concepts in literacy, numeracy, arts, music, and motor skills.
Use play-based and experiential learning methods.
Prepare teaching aids, materials, and learning corners.
2. Classroom Management
Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
Encourage good manners, respect, and cooperation among children.
Monitor each child's progress and behavior; provide support as needed.
3. Child Development & Assessment
Observe and assess children's development regularly.
Prepare progress reports and communicate observations to parents.
Identify children who may need additional support and work with the coordinator or counselor as required.
4. Communication & Collaboration
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians through meetings, diaries, or digital platforms.
Collaborate with co-teachers, assistants, and the school team.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
5. Health, Safety & Hygiene
Ensure the well-being and safety of all children at all times.
Follow the school's health, safety, and child protection policies.
Teach and model good hygiene and healthy habits.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Training, or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience teaching pre-primary or preschool children (preferred).
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
Ability to plan engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.
Strong classroom management skills.
