: Primary Teacher (Std. 1 to 4)

Job Summary

St. John High School is seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated Primary Teacher to nurture and educate students from Standards 1 to 4 in alignment with the Maharashtra State Board curriculum. The ideal candidate should bring creativity into the classroom, foster foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, and promote holistic development through values, discipline, and engaging teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver interactive and age-appropriate lessons in core subjects (English, Marathi, Maths, EVS).

Prepare and use teaching aids, charts, stories, and multimedia resources.

Assess students' learning progress regularly through classwork, tests, and observations.

Encourage participation, questioning, and creativity among young learners.

Manage classroom behaviour positively and create a caring, inclusive environment.

Maintain accurate student records including attendance and academic performance.

Conduct co-curricular and value-based activities aligned with school vision.

Communicate with parents about student development and concerns.

Attend staff meetings, training programs, and participate in school events.

Qualifications

D.Ed./D.El.Ed. or B.Ed. (Primary Education) from a recognized institution

Graduation in Arts/Science/Commerce

Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience at primary level preferred

Fluency in English (Marathi and Hindi proficiency is an added advantage)

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong command over language and communication

Patience, empathy, and child-centric teaching approach

Creativity in lesson planning and use of storytelling, rhymes, and activities

Familiarity with Maharashtra State Board curriculum (Std. 1-4)

Ability to use technology (smartboards, educational apps, digital tools)
