Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary English Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching young learners and a strong commitment to fostering a love of language and literature. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing English language lessons, as well as creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and national/state standards. Design a variety of activities, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to cater to the diverse needs of students.

Teaching and Instruction:

Deliver high-quality English lessons that are interactive, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate. Use effective teaching strategies, such as storytelling, role-play, and group work, to promote active learning. Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through language-based activities.

Assessment and Evaluation:

Assess students' progress regularly using a variety of assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments. Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language skills. Maintain accurate records of students' achievements and progress.

Classroom Management:

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning. Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote discipline. Use classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.

Parent Communication:

Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and any concerns. Organize parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' academic and social development.

Professional Development:

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in English language teaching. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Strong foundation in English language arts, including phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and literature. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons. Passion for teaching young learners and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching certification or equivalent. Experience teaching English to young learners. Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and strategies. Proficiency in using technology in the classroom.
