Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Delivery:

Design and implement lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards. Teach core English subjects including phonics, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, creative writing, and spoken English.

Student Engagement:

Use interactive and age-appropriate methods to make learning enjoyable and effective. Encourage participation, discussion, and reading habits among students.

Assessment & Evaluation:

Monitor and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments. Maintain accurate records and prepare student progress reports.

Classroom Management:

Create a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment that supports learning. Implement behavior management strategies when needed.

Literacy Development:

Promote reading through storytelling, library sessions, reading circles, and other literacy-enriching activities. Encourage creative and analytical writing through structured exercises and free expression.

Parent Communication:

Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, written reports, and informal updates. Provide support for students with specific learning needs in collaboration with parents and other staff.

Professional Development:

Stay updated with the latest educational practices, English language teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies. Participate in school training sessions and workshops.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) or equivalent teaching qualification preferred

Experience:

1-3 years of experience in teaching English at the primary level preferred

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent spoken and written English Strong classroom management and communication skills Creative and student-centered approach to teaching Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning styles and abilities Proficiency in using digital tools and educational technology
