Job Summary

The Primary English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English to students of classes 1-5 in alignment with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will foster language development through reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities, and create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Classroom Instruction

Deliver well-planned, creative, and engaging English lessons aligned with CBSE learning objectives. Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills. Use age-appropriate teaching methods and instructional materials. Integrate phonics, storytelling, and activity-based learning.

2. Curriculum Planning & Assessment

Prepare year plans, lesson plans, and teaching aids as per CBSE guidelines. Develop and administer formative and summative assessments. Evaluate student progress regularly and maintain accurate records. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

3. Classroom Management

Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Maintain discipline using positive reinforcement and age-appropriate strategies. Encourage student participation and engagement.

4. Student Development

Support individual learning needs and identify students requiring additional help. Encourage reading habits and communication skills through activities such as debates, recitation, storytelling, etc. Promote values like respect, empathy, teamwork, and curiosity.

5. Communication & Collaboration

Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress. Collaborate with fellow teachers on interdisciplinary projects, events, and school programs. Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and professional development sessions.

6. Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain lesson records, student portfolios, and examination data. Assist in organizing school events, competitions, and extracurricular activities. Ensure adherence to school policies and CBSE standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in English / B.A. with English + B.Ed (mandatory). Sound knowledge of CBSE curriculum and teaching methodologies. Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school (preferred). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in classroom technology (Smartboard, educational apps, etc.). Passion for teaching young learners with patience and creativity.
