Job Description

A Primary Educator responsible for Math, Science, English, and Social Science in an international school is expected to deliver a well-rounded curriculum across these subject areas, promote holistic development, and maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create, implement, and adapt lesson plans for Math, Science, English, and Social Science according to the prescribed curriculum and syllabus, balancing diverse teaching formats to ensure students grasp and retain core concepts. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to both individualized and small group instruction, and facilitate a nurturing atmosphere for learning and social development. Assess student understanding regularly through assignments, tests, and project work; provide constructive feedback, maintain records of progress, and modify instructional approaches for special or individual needs. Teach students the principles of responsible citizenship, discipline, and social values alongside subject-specific knowledge. Evaluate, record, and report student achievement and attendance to parents and school administration; participate in parent-teacher meetings and communicate regularly regarding student progress. Organize and supervise field trips, events, extracurricular activities; participate in school-wide initiatives that encourage holistic development beyond academics. Collaborate with teaching colleagues, special education staff, and administration on curriculum planning, student support strategies, and overall school improvement. Pursue ongoing professional development, stay informed about advancements in education, and continuously seek ways to improve teaching effectiveness.
A Librarian in a school setting plays a crucial role in managing the library resources, supporting students and staff in their information and literacy needs, and promoting a culture of reading and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the school's library collection including the selection, acquisition, cataloging, and organization of resources aligned with the curriculum and diverse learning needs. Provide access to various library media and technology resources, maintaining and sometimes upgrading digital platforms and databases. Collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy and research skills into the curriculum, assisting with lesson planning and providing instructional support. Teach students effective research techniques, critical evaluation of information, and ethical use of resources. Promote reading culture through programs like book clubs, author visits, reading challenges, and literacy initiatives. Maintain an organized and welcoming library environment, ensuring resources are accessible and preserving proper circulation and cataloging systems. Participate in school and district meetings, contributing expertise to curriculum development and educational planning. Manage budgets and supervise library staff, volunteers, or student assistants as needed. Advocate for the school library's role in student success within the education community. Stay abreast of new technologies, trends in library science, and professional development opportunities.
