Job Description

As a Junior Freight Forwarding Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of the freight forwarding department. This entry-level position is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of the freight forwarding industry. You will work closely with experienced team members to facilitate the movement of goods and ensure efficient transportation processes for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Documentation Preparation:Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
Verify accuracy of documentation and ensure compliance with international trade regulations. Booking and Coordination:Collaborate with carriers, shipping lines, and transport providers to secure space and book cargo shipments.
Coordinate transportation and monitor the movement of goods from origin to destination. Customs Compliance:Gain familiarity with customs regulations and procedures to ensure smooth clearance of goods through customs checkpoints.
Support the preparation and submission of customs documentation as required. Customer Communication:Assist in maintaining regular communication with clients to provide shipment status updates and address inquiries.
Learn to handle customer requests, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service. Freight Tracking:Utilize company software systems to track and monitor the progress of shipments in real-time.
Update internal databases and provide accurate shipment information to relevant stakeholders. Cargo Handling:Learn about cargo handling processes, including packaging, labeling, and special handling requirements.
Assist in coordinating cargo loading and unloading activities at ports and terminals. Logistical Problem-Solving:Collaborate with the operations team to identify and address logistical challenges that may arise during transportation.
Contribute ideas for process improvements and efficiency enhancements. Team Collaboration:Work closely with senior team members to learn about industry best practices, regulations, and company policies.
