Key responsibilities

Machine and Die Setup:

Install and secure dies into the die casting machine using hoists or other equipment.

Connect and regulate water cooling systems for the die.

Preheat die sections to the correct temperature.

Adjust machine parameters such as ram stroke, water flow, and machine speed based on the casting requirements.

Machine Operation:

Operate the die casting machine to inject molten aluminum under pressure into the die.

Handle and remove castings from the die once they have solidified and the machine cycle is complete.

Clean the die cavity and apply lubricant as needed.

Quality Control:

Inspect the finished castings for defects using gauges or visual checks.

Ensure the final product meets quality standards and specifications.

Report any production-related defects or issues with the die.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine checks on the machine and die for wear and tear.

Conduct basic preventive maintenance tasks on the equipment.

Assist with or perform minor repairs and troubleshooting as needed.

Required skills and qualifications

Mechanical Aptitude:

A strong understanding of how machines and tools work is crucial.

Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy is required for both operating the machinery and inspecting the final product.

Physical Stamina: The job can be physically demanding and may involve working in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with the machine or the casting process is important.

Teamwork: The role often requires working closely with other team members, including the tool room and production departments.
